NAIX

These statistics have a specific section with all the information available: Birth Statistics (NAIX).

Methodological note

The difference between the number of live births and the number of deaths during the year. The growth is positive when the number of births is higher than the number of deaths, and it is negative when the opposite holds true.

Live births: Births of children that showed any sign of life. It is the number of births excluding stillbirths (total births include live births and stillbirths).

The data for Catalonia have been calculated using figures on natural population movement. As of 2012 onwards, the statistics on births and deaths include the events of the population resident in Catalonia which take place in other autonomous communities.
