Methodological note

This indicator shows the total number of passengers carried. A carried passenger is understood to mean a passenger on a specific flight (with a flight number) counted only once and not several times for each leg of that flight.

Passengers are accounted for by informant airport (start or end of journey), regardless of whether the journey has been paid for or not. Passengers in transit that board or disembark from the flight at the informant airport are included and passengers in direct transit are excluded.

The data for Catalonia includes domestic arrivals (entries) and total international traffic (entries and departures) at Barcelona, Girona and Reus airports.
