RIS Statistics on Social Inclusion Income

Social Inclusion Income is intended to provide all people needing support to cover their basic needs to live in society with the appropriate resources for them to get by and to promote their social and labour inclusion or reinclusion. The social Inclusion Income data are presented in three modalities.

  • Minimum Inclusion Income (RMI). Information is provided on an annual basis on the average number of benefits, the average benefit and the annual amount of the benefit in Catalonia. This benefit was replaced in September 2017 by the Guaranteed Income for Citizens. Idescat has drawn up these statistics since 1991 upon the basis of the information provided by the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Families.
  • Guaranteed Income for Citizens (RGC). Information is provided on an annual basis on the average number of benefits, the average benefit and the annual amount of the benefit in Catalonia. This benefit was created in 2017 to replace the Minimum Inclusion Income. The information is provided by the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Families. From 2018 on, information is provided by provinces, areas of the Territorial Plan, counties and municipalities.
  • Active Inclusion Income (RAI). Information is provided on an annual basis on the average number of benefits, the average benefit and the annual amount of the active inclusion income in Catalonia. Idescat has drawn up this statistic since 2001 upon the basis of the information provided by the SEPE (State Public Employment Service), under the authority of the Ministry of Employment and Social Security.
