Methodological note

The old-age dependency ratio is the quotient between the number of people aged 65 and over and the number of people aged between 15 and 64. It is one of the classic measurements of the structure by age and the ageing of the population.

The data for Catalonia have been calculated upon the basis of the information by age in the population Estimates produced by Idescat.
