28.603 people in 2011 have been granted access to the Spanish citizenship. Foreigners from South America and Central accounted of 70,8% of these grants while foreigners from Africa represents the second largest share of all grants issued (23,3%). The Idescat initiates the diffusion of these statistics by the total of Catalonia and the four provinces.
