20th October 2016, European Statistics Day shall be held for the first time.
The commemoration is an initiative of the European Statistical Advisory Committee and has the support of the members of the European Statistical System and the European System of Central Banks. European Statistics Day fills the gap between the celebrations of World Statistics Day (promoted by the United Nations), which is held every five years.
This first edition will be kicked off during the second Conference of European Statistics Stakeholders, which will take place in Budapest on 20th and 21st October, 2016.
The Conference gathers European specialists in methodologies, producers and statistics users and aims to examine user needs, share best practices in the production of official statistics, present innovative ways of disseminating statistics and move forward in the gathering and analysis of data from a methodological standpoint.
The European statistics community will be organising several activities to celebrate European Statistics Day, which can be consulted on the website of the European Statistics System.
