The labour cost per worker and month stands at 2,544.55 euros in Catalonia as of the Third quarter of 2016, 0.6% less than the same quarter in 2015. In terms of the above sectors, the labour cost per worker and month in the ICT sector stood at 3,544.90 euros, 5,1% less than a year ago, while in the culture sector this figure is situated at 2,863.42 euros, with a year-over-year decrease of 3.3%. The tourism sector registers a labour cost of 2,028.62 euros per worker and month, 1.3% more in respect to the previous year. Within the tourism sector, the highest labour costs can be found in the transport sub-sector (3,354.81 euros), while the audiovisual and publicity sector in the culture industry is the sub-sector with the highest labour cost (3,119.40 euros).
The wage cost per worker and month has seen a year-over-year decrease in Catalonia by 1.0%, standing at 1,875.14 euros. The wage cost in the ICT sector is situated at 2,665.70.45 euros, and 2,158.83 and 1,492.02 in the culture and tourism sectors, respectively.
Per effective hour, the labour cost is 21.42 euros, while the wage cost is 15.78 euros. The ICT sector has the highest effective wage cost per hour (20.53 euros), which is 61.9% higher than that of the tourism sector (12.68 euros). The culture sector has seen an decrease of 0.3% in its wage cost per effective hour with respect to last year, now standing at 18.20 euros.

Its main objective is to determine the cost of the labour force, considering the mean labour cost per worker and month, per effective hour, per hours worked and hours not worked.
