The Industrial Products Price Index (Base 2015=100) grew by 2.0% in Catalonia in 2017, according to definitive data. By large industrial sectors, increased all sectors: intermediate goods (3.1%), consumer goods (1.7%) and equipment goods (0.6%).
By industrial sectors, rises were recorded in electricity and gas (12.3%), manufacturing industries (2.8%) and extraction industries (0.1%) ; while water supply dropped (−0.5%). Within the manufacturing industries, the highest growth was registred in metallurgy; manufacture of basic iron, steel and ferroalloy products (12.1%) and in chemical industries (-2.7%); meanwhile the greatest decreases were shown in manufacture of other transport equipment and other manufacturing industries (−0.7% and −0.5, respectively).
In 2017, the Industrial Price Index increased 4.3% in Catalonia, mainly due to the growth of energy (13.0%).
