The primary objectives of the Wage Structure Survey are to obtain results on the wage levels of employees and to discover the differences in distribution as a result of the characteristics of both the employees and the occupations. Moreover, it allows for the structure of the wage itself to be determined, both in terms of its composition and the variables which influence it.
This is a sample survey produced every four years by the INE by means of its research into contribution accounts. For the years in which the survey is not performed, salary estimates are obtained from the Annual Wage Structure Survey, which is another INE survey resulting from the conciliation of various statistical and administrative sources.
