IECI Industrial New Orders Received Indices

The Industrial New Orders Received Index is a short-term indicator whose objective is to measure the evolution of the activity of Catalan industrial companies based on future demand (new orders) directed toward industrial sectors. As an index value it measures the aggregate evolution of the quantities, quality and prices.

Idescat prepares the Industrial New Orders Received Index on a monthly basis. It also calculates the index of industrial products, excluding energy, for Catalonia and Spain, which it disaggregates by large industrial sectors (defined by EC Regulation No. 656/2007 of the Commission of the European Communities, amending EC Regulation No. 586/2001, in reference to the definition of large industrial sectors).
