IPC Consumer Price Index

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is a short-term indicator that measures the evolution over time of the prices of consumer goods and services purchased by the population residing in family dwellings.

The importance of each of the goods and services in the calculation of the CPI is basically determined by household consumption, and the whole makes up the basket of goods.

Idescat publishes the monthly results and the annual average of the general CPI and the CPI by European Classification of Individual Consumption according to Purpose (ECOICOP) groups that the INE compiles. It also publishes the monthly results of the CPI for the main special groups, prepared by the INE.
