Methodological aspects

The Index of prices received by farmers (IPPA) measures the evolution of the level of the prices that farmers and livestock farmers receive for selling their agricultural products.

From de prices received by farmers (monthly and yearly), and using the Laspeyres formula, the indexes of precisesreceived by farmers are made with base on 2015, que pretén adaptar-se als canvis de l'agricultura dels últims anys.

These indexes can be perfectly compared to those made by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fishing and Food (MAPA), because the same methodolgy is used and the weighting factors used in Catalonia are those used by MAPA in this territory too. The unique exception is forest products, which MAPA inlcudes.
