Methodological note

The data on the mean age at first marriage are taken from the mean age when single men and women get married. This is calculated as the mean of the distribution of marriages by age.

As of 2012 onwards, marriage statistics include the marriages of people residing in Catalonia which take place in other autonomous communities.

The information on the indicators of natural movement and migration from the first decade of the 21st century were updated in September 2013 with the availability of the 2001–2011 intercensal population estimates, which links the results of the 2001 Population Census and the 2011 Population Estimates.
