Methodological note

The indicator is a partial labour productivity measure of the agricultural sector. Agricultural factor income measures the income generated by farming, which is used to remunerate borrowed or rented factors of production (capital, wages and land rents) as well as own production factors (own labour, capital and land).

The agricultural income used here is the real one (in other words, deflated by using the GDP) per annual work unit (AWU).

Annual work units (AWUs) are defined as full-time equivalent employment (corresponding to the number of full-time equivalent jobs), i.e. as total hours worked divided by the average annual number of hours worked in full-time jobs within the economic territory.

As for the indicator expressed as an index with a value of 100 for a reference year, the reference year is 2009 for Catalonia while 2010 is taken as the reference year for the European Union and Spain.
