Indicador ODS Indicator 13.10 from the EU Sustainable Development Goals

Last update: June 30, 2023.

Methodological note

The indicator measures total domestic greenhouse gas emissions (both diffuse and those covered by the emissions trading scheme), including carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O) and fluorinated gases (hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, nitrogen trifluoride (NF3) and sulphur hexafluoride (SF6)). Using the global warming potential of each gas, the values are integrated into a single indicator expressed in equivalent CO2. This excludes the land use, land use change and forestry sectors (LULUCF). It includes international aviation, unlike what EU member states report to assess the achievement of their reduction commitments (you can view these reports at https://canviclimatic.gencat.cat/ca/canvi/inventaris/ ).

Data for the entire time series are reviewed annually.
