Methodological note
The Eurostat indicator measures the share of women from the age of 15 who answered "yes" when they were asked whether they have experienced physical and/or sexual violence by a partner or non-partner in the 12 months prior to the interview. The indicator is based on a survey of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), which has a single wave, made in 2012.
The Catalonia indicator is based on the results of the Survey on Gender-Based Violence in Catalonia, in its latest edition. The 2016 edition measured the percentage of women from the age of 16 who answered "yes" when asked if they had suffered one or more assaults of physical and / or sexual violence by a couple or not a partner in the 12 months prior to the interview.
The indicator is based on a survey of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), which has a single wave, carried out in 2012.
The indicator for Catalonia is based on the results of the Catalan Sexist Violence Survey, in its latest edition. The 2016 edition measured the percentage of women aged 16 and over who answered "yes" when asked if they had suffered an assault or more physical and / or sexual violence by a partner or non-partner in the previous 12 months to the interview.
