The Industrial Products Price Index increased by 1.8% in year-over-year terms in Catalonia in July 2018. For large industrial sectors, all product prices increased: energy (12.5%), intermediate goods (3.8%), equipment goods (1.2%) and consumer goods (0.3%).
On the other hand, by industrial divisions, the most significant increases in prices were registered in the chemical industries (6.9%), in the metallurgy; manufacture of basic iron, steel and ferroalloy products (5.1%) and in the printing and reproduction of recorded media (4.3%); while the highest decrease was registered in food industries (−0.8%).
During the same period the industrial price index increased by 3.9% compared to the same month of the previous year.
The industrial price index (IPRI) is a trend indicator which measures the monthly evolution of the prices of products manufactured by industry in their initial stage of commercialization. Upon the basis of the data provided by the INE, Idescat performs a tabulation for large industrial sectors.
