The collection of information for the 2018 Survey of Living Conditions has begun. The fieldwork will be performed between September and December 2018 and will collect data on the income and living conditions of Catalan households, with the purposes of obtaining indicators of poverty, social exclusion and inequality and comparing them with the European indicators.
The 2018 Survey on Living Conditions is an official statistics which forms part of the 2018 Annual Statistical Action Programme (action 05 01 01), in deployment of the Law on the 2017-2020 Statistical Plan for Catalonia. It is sent to a sample of households representing the entire Catalan territory.
The Statistical Institute of Catalonia (Idescat) is conducting this Survey in cooperation with the Government of Catalonia's Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Families, the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, Barcelona City Council and the Institute of Regional and Metropolitan Studies of Barcelona and it receives the support of the National Statistical Institute.
