Idescat is joining the celebration of the European Statistics Day (20 October), an initiative led by the European Statistical Advisory Committee, with the support of the European Statistics System and the European System of Central Banks.
The aim of the celebration is to raise awareness among European citizens of the importance of official statistics. In particular, it provides an opportunity for all the official statistics users (political leaders, companies, the research community, the media and citizens) to interact with European statistics.
European Statistics Day is held annually, except for the years when World Statistics Day (promoted by the United Nations) is celebrated, which happens every five years.
This year, the third edition of the initiative, the European statistical community has organised various activities under the motto "Statistics today for a better tomorrow".
