The labour cost per worker and month stood at 2,597.56 euros in Catalonia as of the third quarter of 2018, 2.3% higher than the same quarter in 2017. With regards to the specific sectors, the labour cost per worker and month in the ICT sector showed the highest figure and stood at 3,984.83 euros, 17.2% more than one year ago, while the culture sector stands at 3,125.82 euros, with a year-on-year increase of 8.0%. The tourism sector decreases 1.2% compared to the same quarter of 2017 with a labor cost of 2,038.85 euros per worker and month. In the tourism sector, the highest labor cost is recorded by the tourism transport subsector (3,421.56 euros). In the sector of culture, the audiovisual sub-sector and advertising is the one that records the highest labor cost (3,776.16 euros).
The wage cost per worker and month increased by 2.1% in Catalonia, totaling 1,911.73 euros. The wage cost in the ICT sector was 2,973.46 euros, and in the culture and tourism sectors 2,343.79 euros and 1,495.01 euros respectively.
Per effective hour, the labour cost was 21.92 euros, and the wage cost 16.13 euros. In the analysed specific sectors, ICT sector had the highest effective wage cost per hour (23.02 euros), followed by the cultural (19.36 euros) and tourism (12.63 euros) sectors.
Regarding the number of jobs vacancies , it is 19,666, 12.9% more than a year ago. The services sector accounts for 83.0% of the vacancies.

Its main objective is to determine the cost of the labour force, considering the mean labour cost per worker and month, per effective hour, per hours worked and hours not worked.
