Catalonia’s gross domestic product grew by a year-over-year 2.2% in the last quarter of 2018, according to the Advance of the GDP drawn up by the Ministry of Vice-presidency and of the Economy and Finance in partnership with Idescat. By activity sectors, there were increases in construction (4.0%) and services (3.3%), while industry fell by 1.5% and agriculture by 1.1%. In quarter-over-quarter terms the GDP of the Catalan economy rose by 0.6%.
Throughout the whole of 2018 the Catalan economy grew by 2.6%, according to the Advance of the GDP. All the sectors recorded upturns (construction by 4.9%, services by 3.0% and industry by 1.4%), except for agriculture (−1.7%).
