Foreign Tourism. 2022. Definitive data

The number of foreign tourists who arrived to Catalonia in 2022 increased by 156.6% compared to 2021 and stood at 14.9 million according to the definitive data, that update the provisional data. By country of residence, among the countries from which the majority of tourists came, France, the United Kingdom and Germany registered positive year-over-year variation rates of 80.2%, 410.5% and 142.7%, respectively.

On the other hand, by reason for travelling, leisure trips, business trips and trips for other reasons (health, studies, family…) increased by 163.3%, 179.1% and 74.0%, respectively. As for the principal type of accommodation, hotels and similar increased by 165.6% and the housings of relatives or friends by 127.4%.
