Foreign tourism Expenditure. 2022. Definitive data

The total expenditure made in 2022 by tourists residing abroad whose principal destination was Catalonia increased by 198.3% compared to 2021, and stood at 16,479 million euros, according to definite data that update the provisional data. The main expenditure items corresponded to international transport (4,024 million euros) and accommodation (3,682 million euros).

By country of residence, France and the United States stood out, with a total expenditure of 2,402 and 1,929 million euros and a year-over-year increase of 96.7% and 392.2%, respectively.

The average daily expenditure per person was 188 euros, which represented a year-over-year decrease of 21.9%.
