Large Store Sales Index. 01/2023

The Large Store Sales Index (IVGS) of Catalonia at current prices increased by 11.6% in January 2023 compared to the same month of 2022. By product group, food sales have increased by 11.2% and sales of the rest of the products by 12.0%.

At constant prices (i.e. eliminating the effect of prices) the index showed a year-over-year increase of 5.0%. By product group, sales of food products decreased by 1.2%, while those of non-food products increased by 12.1%.

The monthly variation in the Large Store Sales Index was negative (−28.7%) compared to December 2022.
