Statistics and Accounts of the Cultural Companies. 2022

The turnover of the cultural sector in Catalonia was 13,573 million euros in 2022, a figure that shows a 18.4% increase compared to the year before. The sector generated a gross added value of 5,186 million euros (17.4% more than in 2021) and employed 111,707 people, meaning an increase of 1.6%.

By cultural domains, Advertising is the one that generated the highest turnover, with 2,789 million euros (20.5% of the total), followed by the domain Books and press, with a turnover of 2,153 million euros (15.9%). On the contrary, the domain of Heritage, archives and libraries created the lowest turnover, with 177 million euros (1.3%).
