Unpaid bill of exchange
Bill of exchange discounted to the client that is not paid and is returned by credit entities that have a commercial portfolio. Does not include receipts for services.

Methodological aspects

The anual data are on the Unpaid Bills of Exchange Statistic (UBE) from the INE. The objective is to determine on a monthly basis the number and ammount of the financial institution bills of exchange, in portfolio and received as a management fee from clients, which have expired during the reference month and of these, those that remain unpaid. Data is obtained on the number and the ammount of the different bills, broken down by type of institution: banks, savings banks and credit unions and territorially on a national scale by Autonomous Communities and provinces.
