Methodological note

This indicator measures the proportion of people aged 16-74 who have used the Internet in the three months prior to the date of the interview and say that they have basic or advanced digital skills (which are two of the six levels in the overall digital skills indicator). It is an indicator based on selected activities performed on the Internet by individuals in five specific areas: information and data literacy, communication and collaboration, digital content creation, security and problem solving.

Until 2020, there were four specific areas of internet activities: information, communication, problem solving and computer skills.

The indicator is based on data from the Survey on ICT Equipment and Use in Householdsaligned with EU regulations.
