Statistics on Foreign Tourism. 03/2023

The number of foreign tourists who arrived in Catalonia stood at 1.0 million in March 2023, compared to 709.0 thousand in March 2022, a figure that represents a year-over-year increase of 44.9%. By country of habitual residence, the countries from which the majority of tourists came were France, Italy and the United States, with 200.5, 100.7 and 96.2 thousand tourists, respectively.

On the other hand, by reason for traveling, leisure trips, business trips and trips for other reasons (health, studies, family...) have a tourist influx with 772.0 thousand, 144.5 thousand and 111.1 thousand tourists, respectively.

As for the principal type of accommodation, hotels and similar have an influx with 654.4 thousand tourists, and the accommodation in family or friend's homes with 151.1 thousand tourists.
