Statistics on social inclusion income. 2022

During 2022, a monthly average of 55,615 guaranteed income for citizens were paid out, representing an annual sum of 421.9 million euros. The average monthly number of beneficiaries was 122,062 and the average benefit in December was 432 euros.

Compared to 2021, this represents an 8.3% increase in the number of benefits. As for the economic volume, this decreased by 1.7% compared to the previous year, because the supplements to the guaranteed income for citizens in relation to groups that cannot be incorporated into the labour market (due to permanent disability, absolute disability or severe disability) were not taken into account. Idescat also provides this information by municipalities, counties, and other territorial areas.

In terms of active inclusion income, an average of 8,468 benefits were paid out in the same period, with a total amount of 50.5 million euros. This benefit meant an average monthly income of 471 euros for the beneficiaries. Compared to 2021, the number of benefits decreased by 30.3% and the economic volume decreased by 28.5%.
