Statistics on Foreign Tourism. 04/2023

The number of foreign tourists who arrived in Catalonia stood at 1.5 million in March 2023, compared to 1.2 million in April 2022, a figure that represents a year-over-year increase of 33.0%. By country of habitual residence, the countries from which the majority of tourists came were France, the United States and Italy, with 384.3, 155.2 and 130.8 thousand tourists, respectively.

On the other hand, by reason for traveling, leisure trips, business trips and trips for other reasons (health, studies, family...) have a tourist influx with 1.3 million, 136.4 thousand and 121.9 thousand tourists, respectively.

As for the principal type of accommodation, hotels and similar have an influx with 1.1 million tourists, and the accommodation in rented homes with 149.5 thousand tourists.
