Industrial Production Index. 04/2023

The Industrial Production Index adjusted by working days decreased by 3.4% year-over-year in Catalonia in April 2023. By large industrial sectors, intermediate goods decreased by 6.7%, consumer goods by 3.3% and capital goods by 0.2%; while energy increased by 0.1%.

In the same period, the Industrial Products Index (which does not include energy and is not adjusted by working days) decreased by 7.2% compared to the same month of the previous year and the Industrial Production Index (which includes energy) decreased by 6.5%. By large industrial sectors, all of them decreased: intermediate goods (−9.3%), consumer goods (−7.0%), capital goods (−4.2%) and energy (−0.6%).

Moreover, by industrial divisions the most significant decreases were registered in textile, clothing, leather and footwear industries (−18.7%) and paper, graphic arts and recorded media industries (−15.8%).
