Change of assignment of counties and supracounties of the municipalities of Biosca and Torà

On 20 March 2023, the Official Journal of the Government of Catalonia (DOGC) published Law 4/2023, of 16 March, on the change of assignment of counties and supracounties of the municipalities of Biosca and Torà, according to which they are segregated from La Segarra and added to El Solsonès.

Idescat, as the competent statistical body in this area, includes this change in the official Catalan geo-nomenclature, in the Territorial and entity codes database, in the sections referring to municipalities and counties. In the case of Biosca, the change has been made on 6 July 2023 and in the case of Torà, on 14 July 2023, as these are the dates of publication in the DOGC of the agreement and the edict of ratification of the change of county by the respective municipal councils.

From now on, the changes will affect future publications of official statistical results by the Statistical System of Catalonia, always considering the reference date.
