Industrial Price Index. 07/2023

The industrial products price index (which does not include energy) decreased by 0.1% in year-over-year terms in Catalonia in July 2023.

During the same period the industrial price index (which includes energy) dropped by 5.5% compared with the same month of the previous year. By large industrial sectors, energy prices decreased by 23.3% and those of intermediate goods by 8.1%, while prices of consumer goods increased by 7.0% and those of capital goods by 2.2%.

Moreover, by industrial divisions, the most significant decreases in prices were registered in metallurgy and manufacture of basic iron, steel and ferroalloy products (−15.9%) and in chemical industries (−14.0%). By contrast, prices increased in manufacture of beverages (13.5%) and in manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (10.7%).
