Industrial Production Index. 07/2023

The Industrial Production Index adjusted by working days increased by 0.7% in Catalonia in July 2023. By large industrial sectors, capital goods (15.7%) increased, while energy (−6.3%), intermediate goods (−3.2%) and consumer goods (−1.5%) decreased.

In the same period, the Industrial Products Index (which does not include energy and is not adjusted by working days) increased by 1.7% compared to the same month of the previous year, and the Industrial Production Index (which includes energy) increased by 0.7%. By large industrial sectors, capital goods (15.7%) increased; while energy (−6.3%), intermediate goods (−3.1%) and consumer goods (−1.6%) decrease.

Finally, by industrial divisions the highest increases were registered by the manufacture of transport material (41.4%) and the manufacture of machinery and mechanical equipment (6.1%); on the other hand, the textile, clothing, leather and footwear industries decreased (−19.8%) as did the graphic arts and recorded media industries (−8.4%).
