Announcement of the XXI Student Contest on Applied Statistics (UAB-Idescat)

The twentieth first edition of the Student Contest on Applied Statistics has been announced, a competition that is organised annually by the Statistics Service at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona with the collaboration of the Statistical Institute of Catalonia and which is designed to foster interest and research spirit in the field of statistics at universities in the state of Spain.

The competition constitutes the main action for fostering research that is addressed at future professional or users of public statistics, along with the Planter de Sondeigs i Experiments for secondary school pupils, the fourteenth edition of which was held this year.

The competition offers three prizes: the Idescat Award for the best master work, SEA -Anna Espinal Award for the best degree work and the Almirall Award for the best work in biostatistical. The winners will also receive the membership fee for one year of the Societat Catalana d'Estadística. The deadline for submitting works is 24 September 2023. The awards ceremony will be part of Statistics Day in Catalonia (October 2023, provisional).
