New API in Idescat

Idescat has added the new Tables service to its catalogue of application programming interfaces (APIs), which allows access to any data from a subset of statistics prepared for this functionality. There are currently 13 statistics that allow real-time access to the data in a customised way via API Tables, and they also allow the complete download of their datasets from the Open Data section.

Idescat is working on updating its data infrastructure to be able to flexibly offer its statistics through a variety of solutions and is progressively incorporating new statistics into this subset. The new Tables API updates Idescat's initiative, begun in 2009, to offer data through services. There is currently a catalogue of 8 active APIs. These APIs provide methods for third-party programs to obtain information from the Statistical Institute of Catalonia and integrate it into other services.
