Industrial Price Index. 08/2023

The industrial products price index (which does not include energy) increased by 0.1% in year-over-year terms in Catalonia in August 2023.

During the same period the industrial price index (which includes energy) dropped by 7.3% compared with the same month of the previous year. By large industrial sectors, energy prices decreased by 29.1% and those of intermediate goods by 7.7%, while prices of consumer goods increased by 7.0% and those of capital goods by 2.3%.

Moreover, by industrial divisions, the most significant decreases in prices were registered in metallurgy and manufacture of basic iron, steel and ferroalloy products (−17.3%) and in chemical industries (−11.7%). By contrast, prices increased in manufacture of beverages (13.0%) and in manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (8.9%).
