International Day of Women in Statistics and Data Science

Idescat is proud to support the International Day of Women in Statistics and Data Science, an initiative promoted by the Caucus for Women in Statistics (CWS), the Portuguese Statistical Society (SPE) and the American Statistical Association (ASA).

International Day of Women in Statistics and Data Science

This second edition, which takes place today, October 10, offers more than 35 presentations from 22 countries, which can be followed virtually and which represent a large increase compared to last year.

The International Day of Women in Statistics and Data Science aims to showcase women’s contributions to statistics and data science, connect women statisticians and data scientists around the world and encourage collaborations among statistical societies. The organisers hope the event will encourage the statistics and data science field to become more inclusive and diverse.

To celebrate the event, Idescat disseminates the data on women and men with university degrees related to statistics and data science, for the period 2016-2022, based on data from the Ministry of Research and Universities.
