Statistics on Foreign Tourism Expenditure. 09/2023

The total expenditure made by foreign tourists whose main destination was Catalonia stood at 2,128 million euros in September 2023, compared to 1,851 million in September 2022. This figure represents an increase of 14.9% compared to the same period of the previous year.

By country of habitual residence, the United States and the United Kingdom stood out with a total expenditure of 275 and 253 million euros, respectively.

The average daily expenditure per person was 220 euros, which represented a year-over-year increase of 9.7%. The main expenditure items correspond to expenditure on international transport, with an amount of 517 million euros, and the expenditure on lodging not included in the tour package, with an amount of 429 million euros.
