Industrial Products Survey. 2022

The value of domestically produced industrial product sales in Catalonia reached 124,759 million euros in 2022, an increase of 17.1% compared to the year before, according to provisional data.

By economic division, the two branches with the highest sales were: food products at 26,253 million euros (representing 21.0% of total production sold) and chemical products at 16,585 million euros (15.7% of total production). Both divisions have increased their sales by 20.5% and 15.3%, respectively, compared to the year before.

The branches with the highest sales value were: meat and meat products with sold production of 10,427 million euros (8.4% of total production) and an increase of 14.0% compared to the previous year, and motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers at 10,079 million euros (8.1% of total production), which represents a yearly decrease of 3.9%.

In relative terms, the industries with the highest yearly growth in production sold were electrical energy, gas, steam energy and air conditioning (53.0%; 5,317 million euros) and coke and refined petroleum products (45.5%; 7,111 million euros).

To interpret the results, it should be borne in mind that the data provided are at current prices and, therefore, the variations in some sectors may be more affected by the increase in product prices.
