Industrial Price Index. 10/2023

The industrial products price index (which does not include energy) decreased by 0.2% in year-over-year terms in Catalonia in October 2023.

During the same period the industrial price index (which includes energy) dropped by 5.4% compared with the same month of the previous year. By large industrial sectors, energy prices decreased by 22.2% and those of intermediate goods by 7.3%, while prices of consumer goods increased by 5.6% and those of capital goods by 2.6%.

Moreover, by industrial divisions, the most significant decreases in prices were registered in metallurgy and manufacture of basic iron, steel and ferroalloy products (−15.7%) and in chemical industries (−9.4%). By contrast, prices increased in manufacture of beverages (13.1%) and in manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (6.8%).
