Survey on the Use of ICT and e-Commerce in Companies. 2022-2023

33.6% of Catalan companies with 10 or more employed persons sold sales via e-commerce in 2022. This figure represents a decrease of 3.2 percentage points compared to the previous year (36,8%). By type of sales channel, 39.5% of the e-commerce sales were made via the company's website or mobile application and digital platforms, and 60.5% via EDI or similar messages.

In terms of the intensity of use of ICT in the first quarter of 2023, 98.9% of companies with 10 or more employed persons had an Internet connection. Out of these, 85.8% had a website, 28.6% paid to advertise on the Internet, 42.3% purchased cloud computing services and 69.4% used some form of social media for work purposes, including the use of social networks (89.8%).

In the first quarter of 2023, 41.4% of companies with 10 or more employed persons allowed them to telework. Out of these companies, 33.8% of staff teleworked regularly, with an average of 2.1 days per week.

In relation to companies with less than 10 employed persons, 84.4% had an Internet connection, and of these 36.7% had a website, 13.3% paid to advertise on the Internet, 14.7% purchased cloud computing services and 36.9% used some form of social media.

These statistics are published annually and provide information on the main indicators about the use of technology by Catalan companies. The results for ICT equipment and use refer to the first quarter of 2023, while the information on e-commerce refers to 2022.
