Statistics on Foreign Tourism. 10/2023

The number of foreign tourists who arrived in Catalonia stood at 1.7 million in October 2023, compared to 1.5 million in October 2022, a figure that represents a year-over-year increase of 12.2%. By country of habitual residence, the countries from which the majority of tourists came were France, the United Kingdom and the United States, with 309.4, 161.7 and 143.5 thousand tourists, respectively.

By reason for travelling, leisure trips, business trips and trips for other reasons (health, studies, family...) had a tourist influx of 1.3 million, 218.4 thousand and 100.2 thousand tourists, respectively.

As for the principal type of accommodation, hotels and similar had an influx of 1.2 million tourists, and rented homes accommodated 163.6 thousand tourists.
