Industrial Production Index. 10/2023

The Industrial Production Index adjusted by working days remained stable (0.0% year-over-year variation) in Catalonia in October 2023. By large industrial sectors, energy increased by 5.5% and capital goods by 4.7%; while consumer goods decreased by 2.1% and intermediate goods by 1.5%.

In the same period, the Industrial Products Index (which does not include energy and is not adjusted by working days) increased by 3.0% compared to the same month of the previous year and the Industrial Production Index (which includes energy) increased by 3.4%. By large industrial sectors, all of them increased: capital goods (8.8%), energy (6.5%), intermediate goods (1.4%) and consumer goods (1.0%).

Moreover, by industrial divisions the most significant increases were registered in manufacture of transport material (26.5%) and other manufacturing industries (26.2%); on the other hand, paper, graphic arts and recorded media industries (−16.3%) and manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (−5.4%) decreased.
