Statistics on Campsite Activity. Q4/2023 and year 2023. Provisional data

The number of overnight stays spent at campsites in Catalonia increased by 7.9% in the fourth quarter of 2023 on the year-over-year data, according to the provisional data from the Campsite Occupancy Survey.

As to the country of origin, the number of overnight stays of domestic tourists increased by 2.8%: tourism from Catalonia grew by 0.6% and the tourism from the rest of Spain by 37.5%; with regards to the foreign tourism increased by 16.0%.

Furthermore, the year-over-year figures for the number of travellers registered at campsites increased by 0.7%.

In 2023, the number of overnight stays in campsites grew 3.6% in Catalonia, according to provisional data from the Campsite Occupancy Survey.

Regarding the origin of the travellers, overnight stays of domestic tourism fell by 1.7%: those of Catalan travelers decreased by 2.9% and those of travelers from the rest of Spain increased by 4.8%. Overnight stays of foreign tourism increased by 9.3% compared to a year ago. On the other hand, there was an increase of 4.1% in the number of travellers in comparison to 2022.
