Statistics on Foreign Tourism. 01/2024

The number of foreign tourists who arrived in Catalonia stood at 958.7 thousand in January 2024, compared to 798.3 thousand in January 2023, a figure that represents a year-over-year increase of 20.3%. By country of habitual residence, the countries from which the majority of tourists came were France, Italy and the United States, with 157.2, 152.5 and 61.3 thousand tourists, respectively.

By reason for travelling, leisure trips, trips for other reasons (health, studies, family...) and business trips had a tourist influx of 814.5, 105.7 and 38.5 thousand tourists, respectively.

As for the principal type of accommodation, hotels and similar had an influx of 489.3 thousand tourists, and homes of relatives or friends accommodated 212.0 thousand tourists.
