Retail Trade Index. 01/2024

The General Retail Trade Index (ICD) without service stations, at current prices, increased by 6.2% year-over-year in Catalonia in January 2024. By product type and activity, food increased by 6.1% and the rest of products by 6.2%. During the same period, the General Retail Trade Index with service stations, at current prices, increased by 5.8% compared to one year ago.

At constant prices (i.e. eliminating the effect of prices) the retail trade index without service stations increased by 1.6% year-over-year.

With the publication of the data for January 2024 based on 2021, Idescat complies with Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1197 of the European Commission on short-term statistics, which establishes a change of basis in 2021. The linked sets of the indexes based on 2021 have been published since January 2005.
