Industrial Price Index. 02/2024

The industrial products price index (base 2021=100), which does not include energy, decreased by 1.2% in year-over-year terms in Catalonia in February 2024.

During the same period the industrial price index (which includes energy) dropped by 4.6% compared with the same month of the previous year. By large industrial sectors, energy prices decreased by 17.2% and those of intermediate goods by 6.6%, while prices of capital goods increased by 3.1% and those consumer goods by 2.0%.

Moreover, by industrial divisions, the most significant decreases in prices were registered in metallurgy and manufacture of basic iron, steel and ferroalloy products (−11.3%) and in Industries of paper products (−7.4%). By contrast, prices increased in manufacture of other transport equipment (5.1%) and in manufacture of beverages (4.4%).
