Industrial Production Index. 02/2024

The Industrial Production Index adjusted by working days (base=100) increased by 4.9% year-over-year in Catalonia in February 2024. By large industrial sectors, increased capital goods (10.1%), consumer goods (7.7%) and intermediate goods (2.7%); while decreased energy (1.9%).

In the same period, the Industrial Products Index (which does not include energy and is not adjusted by working days) increased by 11.0% compared to the same month of the previous year and the Industrial Production Index (which includes energy) increased by 9.4%. By large industrial sectors, increased capital goods (15.5%), consumer goods (11.6%) and intermediate goods (7.5%) and energy decreased by 1.8% .

Moreover, by industrial divisions the most significant increases were registered in manufacture of electrical, electronic and optical materials and equipment (29.4%) and transport material (28.7%); on the other hand, textile, clothing, leather and footwear industries (minus; 4.3%) and manufacture of machinery and mechanical equipment (−2.8%) decreased.
