Business Climate Survey. Q1/2024

The business situation of companies in Catalonia in the first quarter of 2024 registered a balance of 7.9 points. The percentage of managers of business establishments with a favourable opinion of their business situation in the first quarter was 21.7%, while 13.8% had an unfavourable opinion. The remaining 64.5% considered that their business situation had remained stable.

By sector of activity, all sectors showed positive balances except for trade (−2,0 points). The accommodation and food service activities sector, construction and other service businesses performed particularly well, with balances of 20.9 and 10.2 points, respectively.

Moreover, expectations regarding the business situation for the second quarter of 2024 registered a balance of 13.0 points. A total of 22.5% of managers believe that their business situation will be favourable, while 9.5% believe that it will be unfavourable. The remaining 67.9% believe that it will remain stable.
